The ginger tea offers health benefits that are already very well known in many parts of the world, especially in Asia where it is almost revered for their medicinal and spicy flavour.

Since ancient times, traditional healers in a wide range of cultures have used this plant primarily to help settle upset stomachs.

Chinese herbalists have relied on ginger as a medicine for over 2,500 years and the ancient Greeks included it in their breads and North American colonists drank ginger ale for morning sickness, being the precursor of modern beer.

Today, many cultures continue to rely on ginger for controlling nausea and also for reducing inflammation, since it is actually a botanical relative of marjoram and turmeric, originating from Southeast Asia and now extensively cultivated in Jamaica and other tropics. Read the rest of this entry »
