Blue Monday
According to psychologist’s calculations, the 18th January will be the worst day of the year and has been named by some as “Blue Monday”.
A formula has been created that takes into account a number of factors which determine that the 18th January is going to be bleak. The factors include the weather, debt incurred over the Christmas period, the fact that there is still another 2 weeks until payday, failed attempts at New Year’s resolutions, low motivational levels and the need to take action.
The build up to Christmas is always an exciting time, followed by New Year celebrations and the resolutions made by many to turn over a new leaf. However these positive feelings are short-lived and are quickly overshadowed when reality hits home – credit card bills start coming in, the days are dark, cold and cloudy and you can’t resist ditching the diet and eating all the biscuits and chocolates you have left over from Christmas.
The combination of events and emotions contribute to a general feeling of misery and there is no better time to focus the mind by making a plan to take time out far from the pressures of daily life. The ideal would be to find somewhere to unwind and refresh both the mind and body and to kick-start yourself again to make you feel more positive.
A good way to do this is to take advantage of some of the great deals on spa days and spa breaks available at the moment. Even if you can’t afford to go this month, you can do your research and make a booking with a low deposit. Imagine yourself relaxing and being thoroughly pampered, indulging in a blissful full body massage or take advantage of some of the great detox spa deals available at this time of year .
The detox spa days and spa breaks usually include treatments to stimulate, exfoliate and eliminate toxins to leave you feeling invigorated. This in turn will make you feel more positive and more able to face the year ahead.
