How to Care for Dry Skin
Dry skin can remain a blessing but more often it is troublesome. Persons with dry skin by and large need not be bothered about blemishes except for the sporadic stray that appears from hormonal changes or stress. While dry skin looks dull and crumbling, and worse, it can lemphasize the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
Age and the surroundings are two factors that donate to this skin type. The skin’s capability to preserve moisture also lessens while we grow older. The breakdown of the intracellular matrix, the elastin layer and collagen that helps keep skin tissue all together. Once this layer begins to break apart, it becomes further complex for skin to sustain ts moisture. Since moisture escapes, skin becomes drier.
Other reasons for dry skin include climates that are bone-dry and windy. Consumption of harsh soaps and detergents and too much unguarded exposure to the sun’s detrimental rays can furthermore disapprovingly influence skin. Genetics can also be a participating factor.
Dry skin doesn’t always feel like it needs to stay cleansed, but it does, twice on a daily basis, morning and night. Use a gentle natural cleanser made for skin that’s dry, by cleansing with warm, not hot, water. It’s never a good idea to use hot water to clean any type of skin or to soak in a tub because doing so will only strip your skin of its natural oils.
After cleansing your skin, pat it dry using a soft towel. Then make use of a natural and botanical moisturizer. Those that are chemical free and only contain natural ingredients are excellent choices.
Help keep skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and increasing your consumption of water content foods such as cucumbers and watermelon. Most fruits and vegetables are excellent hydrating foods plus they’re excellent sources of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Antioxidants are crucial in helping maintain the skin’s intracellular matrix. Antioxidants can also be found in a good natural and botanical skin care line.
